Currently living in Chicago, I grew up in a small, rural farming community in
mid-Michigan. Growing up there and with the help of wonderful parents, certain
values were instilled. These values are still with me today—the sense of family
and friends, sense of community, and the importance of love in one’s life. After
high school, I was quick to get out on my own. There were college classes,
different types of employment, and some location changes. Following a move to
Dallas, my employment took on a more permanent focus. I was extremely fortunate
to be hired by a (then) small Dallas-based airline. That was 1985, and I am
proud to say that I am still employed by them. Having taken advantage of the
company’s relocation policy, I resided in all four time zones at some point in
my career, until I fell in love with and settled in Chicago. I have resided in
Chicago for 12 years in the Lakeview neighborhood. Living in Chicago has
afforded me many cultural opportunities to experience numerous diversities and
interact with people from every part of the globe. My life is enriched with
robust friends and a loving family.
